ACTIVITIES

The Lake District is a great place to get out and enjoy the outdoors, and around Keswick is no exception. There are several Wainwrights that you can tick off, whilst leaving your car at Hazelmere - Latrigg if you fancy a couple of hours round trip, Skiddaw if you are up for a longer day out, and Catbells if you are looking for a great view over Derwentwater.

If you prefer to get onto the lake itself, why not hire a rowing boat, paddleboard or kayak? You can go and explore the lake in your own time.

If two wheels are your thing, Whinlatter Forest is a paradise for mountain bikers, and only a short distance from the property. Alternatively, why not take a road bike out and test your fitness over some of the famous Lake District passes?

HIKING

You are spoilt for choice in the Lake District for where to hike. Nice easy routes around the lakes and woodlands, or bigger days out on some of the best known fells in the country.

You might be ticking off some Wainwrights, or just simply enjoying the area, but either way there is something for you.

Some of our favourites are Blencathra (via Sharp Edge and Halls Fell), Causey Pike and Rannerdale Knotts (for a fantastic view over Crummock Water and Buttermere).

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Whinlatter Forest is a short ride or drive from the property. You can take your own bikes, or hire them from the centre. More information can be found here:
